2009 EDITORIAL TEAM TAKES SHAPE AT ‘THE ONLINE MOTORSPORTS AUTHORITY’

SPEEDtv.com recently named veteran journalist Bob Golfen to the position of Automotive Editor, rounding out the 2009 online editorial team. Golfen, coming off nearly two decades at The Arizona Republic, will manage SPEEDtv.com’s expanding coverage of new vehicles, collector cars, car culture and the automotive lifestyle.

BOB GOLFEN: Automotive Enthusiasm Alive and Thriving

SPEEDtv.com will continue to reinforce its position as The Online Motorsports Authority in 2009 through stronger “in-house” editorial effort that fosters synergy with the linear network and leverages key content partnerships. After launching a brand new web site in 2008, the focus for 2009 will be on expanding the content offerings, providing more opportunities for interaction with contributors and talent, and allowing users to better tailor their experience.

Golfen joins an editorial team that includes:

Tom Jensen (Senior NASCAR Editor) - Jensen leads the coverage efforts for all three of NASCAR’s national touring series, with a 2009 emphasis on expanded feature content and timely delivery of deadline and breaking news. The author of Cheating:
The Bad Things Good NASCAR Racers Do In Pursuit of Speed
, Jensen is the immediate past-president of the National Motorsports Press Association and the 1997 recipient of the NMPA George Cunningham Writer of the Year Award.

Sean Kelly (Formula One Editor) - Kelly began providing F1 statistical analysis for SPEED in 2003 and this year steps into the role of online editor, coordinating Web coverage of all things Grand Prix. In addition to his work at SPEED, Kelly provides F1 stats to 15 television networks worldwide.

Marshall Pruett (Auto Racing Editor) - Prior to 2009, Pruett focused almost exclusively on sports car racing for SPEEDtv.com, but this year his scope of responsibilities widens, with the addition of everything from American open wheel racing to drag racing. With more than 20 years experience in various open wheel and sports car series, Pruett brings an experienced hand to the wheel.
