Teams were able to experience something in the final two days of the winter testing session that they hadn’t been able to in the previous six; dry weather.

After rain plagued the first weeks test and the first two days of the second week including a deluge on the first day, Friday and Saturday were dry.

The Lotus team made their first appearance and turned laps with the group. Unfortunately some time was lost when Heikki Kovalainen crashed the new car on Thursday. On the final day, Jenson Button set the fastest overall time of the winter thus far.

Testing will resume at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya next week, with another four-day session starting Thursday February 25.

Rubens Barrichello gave Williams some attention by setting the fastest time on another soggy test day at Jerez. The Brazilian did his lap when conditions were at their best, around midday, but the main story of the day was a crash for Heikki Kovalainen.
