GP2 Series teams kicked off a two-day test session at France’s Paul Ricard circuit this Tuesday.
Spanish driver Javier Villa set the fastest laptime on the afternoon just ahead of Racing Engineering teammate and championship leader Giorgio Pantano. Also quick was Pastor Maldonado – who set the pace this morning – in third, ahead of Luca Filippi. Both iSport International men finished 5th and 6th quickest, Karun Chandhok leading Bruno Senna. Romain Grosjean, Andreas Zuber, Jerome d’Ambrosio and Lucas di Grassi completed the Top 10.
The session was also marked by the debut of Estonian Marko Asmer at Fisichella Motor Sport International. Asmer is set to replace Adam Carroll for the remainder of the 2008 season.
