One of four "test drivers" for Spyker in a season that allows little testing, former GP2 Series regular Fairuz Fauzy got some seat time aboard the squad's Formula 1 car at the Santa Pod circuit in the UK.
"It was great to be back in the F1 car," commented the Malaysian, who hadn't tested with the team since May. "We concentrated on aero development and control systems and had a very productive day.
"Santa Pod is not really a complete track, but it's quite bumpy, fun and challenging to drive. We didn't have any problems and it was nice to be able to get some more mileage in a Formula 1 car. I'm looking forward to getting some more time later in the season."
Fauzy's full-time job this year is a World Series by Renault campaign, where he got a season-best second place at the Hungaroring last weekend.
