AT&T has parted company with Williams F1, leaving the team to find a new title sponsor for 2012.

Given that a USGP is on the horizon, it seems likely that the telecom giant will resurface at another team, having started its involvement in the sport with Jaguar Racing.

A Williams spokesperson told Reuters: “We have reached the conclusion of our partnership. The contract expired on Dec. 31 by mutual agreement.”

The spokesperson also hinted that the prospective new title sponsor was also in the telecom field.

The team has lost some major sponsors over the past few seasons as it has slid down the grid, and is now relying heavily on Pastor Maldonado’s Venezuelan funding.
