Nick Craw the president of the FIA Senate has revealed that USF1, the new American Formula One team for 2010, has paid its entry fee to contest next year's world championship.

Charlotte (US) and Alcaniz (Spain)-based USF1, headed by journalist Peter Windsor and veteran engineer Ken Anderson, has been dogged by rumors recently questioning its ability to make it to the grid.

American Craw, who twice officially toured USF1's North Carolina headquarters in recent months, is the newly elected FIA Senate president under Jean Todt.

When asked on the SPEED’s Wind Tunnel about the USF1 rumors this week he said: "In the old days we never used to count an entry as being real until the check arrived and it cleared, and of course entry fees were not refundable.

"If you want proof as to whether USF1 are going to be there or not, they sent their entry fee in about 10 days ago, and the number is close to $440,000, so they're going to be there and they're going to make us proud," added Craw.

Earlier this week Windsor denied reports that the team had yet to test and said "several" components for the 2010 car have been "successfully" crash-tested, and that more tests will take place this and next month.

He also denied he recently voted in favor of having the ability to sell USF1's entry, and also shed doubt on the context of quotes attributed to Ross Brawn, where the Brackley based team's boss seemed to question whether USF1 will be ready to debut next March.

"Back in the real world, we're re-furbishing some trucks we've just bought from Brawn," said Windsor.

"As for USF1 Team, I can only repeat what Ken (Anderson) and I have been saying ever since we signed the Concorde Agreement: our slot is not for sale under any circumstances and we will be racing, and giving it 100 percent, from Bahrain onwards."
