Tony Teixeira will reportedly acquire the share of the new Spanish F1 team Campos that is currently owned by Meta Image. And reports the team won’t take part in winter testing may have been premature.

The acquisition rumor has been circulating for some time, but Spain's Cadena SER reports that the deal with the South African entrepreneur will be confirmed shortly.

Meta Image is a Spanish sports marketing company that allied with Adrian Campos to launch the Valencia based team, but Germany's Auto Motor und Sport reports that it is running out of time to secure its financial package for 2010.

The magazine agrees that "a new investor" looks set to enter the frame officially within days.

Auto Motor und Sport said Teixeira's plan is to install the A1GP champion Adam Carroll in the car alongside Bruno Senna, but reveals that Bernie Ecclestone is reluctant to approve the deal.

Reportedly, the F1 chief executive will only green-light Teixeira's takeover if he erases all the debts of his beleaguered A1 series.

It’s rumored Ecclestone favors Zoran Stefanovic's plans for Stefan GP, but the Serbian is ready to race with the departed Toyota's 2010 package, while Campos prefers to press ahead with the well-advanced Dallara project.

Spain's Diario Sport, estimating Teixeira's deal to be worth 20 million Euros, reports that Andy Soucek, the reigning F2 champion, may now have enough funding to secure the Campos seat alongside Senna.

"Negotiations with Campos are on standby," said the Spaniard. "I am hoping for Adrian's call this week."

Teixeira said he is not the only bidder to buy into Campos, and confirmed his plans to associate the deal with his struggling single seater series A1GP.

"There's more than one group talking to Campos and for us it has got to be part of an A1 deal," he said. "It's all for A1. My ambition is to bring A1 into F1."

Teixeira also denied reports that Campos will miss all four group tests of the pre-season.

An Associated Press report on Tuesday quoted head of strategy Daniel Eisen as suggesting the Valencia based team will not test prior to the Bahrain season opener.

Speaking on Wednesday with Reuters, Teixeira played down Eisen's comments.

"I am aware of that report but that's not what the team principal (Adrian Campos) tells me," he said. "They may make the second test but definitely the third and they will make the (first) race. The second test is the target."
