Spa-Francorchamps circuit authorities announced on Friday that Turn 15, long known as Stavelot, will be renamed in memory of Paul Frere.
Located at the top of the famous Belgian circuit, the newly renamed “Curve Paul Frere” marks the beginning of the ultra-fast final sector of the 4.3-mile layout.
Runner-up in the 1956 Belgian Grand Prix at the wheel of a Ferrari, Frere also won the Le Mans 24 hours in 1960, sharing his car with Olivier Gendebien. After his racing
