A week after dismissing the latest round of rumors, GP2 frontrunner Bruno Senna insists he still has not secured a seat on the 2009 Formula 1 grid.

Raging speculation at Valencia two weeks ago suggested the Brazilian, the nephew of the great Ayrton Senna, had signed to race next year with the partly Gerhard Berger-owned Toro Rosso team.

It was also rumored on the verge of the European GP that Senna, 24, may be close to penning a back-up option to become BMW Sauber's test driver in 2009.

"All I can say at the moment that none of these rumors has any basis in fact," he said in his latest column for motorsports-magazine.com.

"We are currently engaged in serious negotiations with various people from various teams, but nothing has been decided yet."

It is suggested that Senna's situation, as with many subjects of the current F1 silly season, will develop over the next few weeks.
