The Sauber team will carry a Japanese message of support for the people of the troubled country on its cars at the Australian GP.

Kamui Kobayashi is the only Japanese driver on the 2011 entry list and has been keen to make a gesture. The message translates as, “May our prayers reach the people in Japan.”

Team principal Peter Sauber said: “It is difficult to find the right words to express our emotions and feelings, but silence means we can’t even begin imagine how to try. We can hardly believe what we are seeing. Our thoughts are with the people in Japan. We hope they will have the necessary strength to overcome these circumstances of extreme adversity.”
