With a new Concorde Agreement set to outlaw customer cars by 2010, Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz has admitted that it will no longer make sense for his company to own two Formula 1 teams – and thus his “junior” Scuderia Toro Rosso squad will be put up for sale.

Mateschitz and Gerhard Berger, who co-owns the outfit, will be looking for a buyer to step in at the end of next season at the latest.

"It is not a big secret that we have put Toro Rosso on the market," Mateschitz told Switzerland’s
Motorsport Aktuell. "For the start of 2010 there will be a rule change and there will be no more synergy regarding design and construction of cars between Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso.

"There I see the necessity that we continue with one team only. We will not sell Toro Rosso during the 2008 season, but it will be before 2010."

Among the names linked to possible STR buyouts are A1GP boss Tony Teixeira and Russian mogul Roustam Tariko, who was a guest of STR in Australia last weekend.
