Montreal and Quebec authorities have finally been able to confirm that the Canadian GP will be back on the schedule on June 13 next year.

In the initial 2010 FIA World Championship calendar Montreal was listed as provisional, pending a definitive commercial agreement.

In a press conference Friday afternoon it was confirmed that there would be annual government contributions of CAN$15m from the three levels of government, but this has been justified by the claim that the race is worth $89m to the local economy.

Quebec Finance Minister Raymond Bachand said: "This agreement is a win-win situation for the Quebec taxpayer, and for the Canadian taxpayer."

The definitive calendar is expected to be confirmed by the World Motor Sport Council in Monaco the week after next.

There is still no word on the future of the British GP.
