Administrators of the Donington Park operation have not found a buyer, BBC News reported late Thursday.

The previous lease held by Simon Gillett went into administration following the failed bid to host the British Grand Prix beginning in mid 2010.

Administrators had said there was interest in the business, but the long-term lease will now revert back to the Wheatcroft family. Tom Wheatcroft died at the end of October.

The Leicestershire circuit is currently unusable, because renovation works in readiness for the Formula One race had to be stopped prior to completion.
