Nico Hulkenberg is widely expected to soon be confirmed as a Sauber driver for 2012, and in the interim the Force India driver continues to rack up strong finishes.

Having earned seventh place in Japan, he followed up with sixth in Korea last weekend after a long battle with Romain Grosjean.

“The team is doing a good job. I feel more comfortable in the car, and we’ve just got a nice rhythm and momentum,” said the German. “It’s so important, as we all know in F1. It’s just running well. Two race weekends ago in Singapore I had more of a rough weekend, and since then it’s got going a bit again.

“It was a perfect weekend. At the beginning of the weekend, I said that’s what we needed, and that’s what we had, no mistakes, and everything went smooth and well. That was reflected in the qualifying performance, and again in the race.

“We just need to make sure that we have four more weekends like this one. We need to fight and stretch ourselves to achieve that every single time now, but it is possible.”

Hulkenberg says he’s looking forward to India: “It’s a home Grand Prix obviously for us, the first time for me on that circuit as well – it’s a new circuit to me, so it will be interesting as well. It’s a big and important weekend for us.”
