F1: McLaren to Launch 2009 Car in January

McLaren becomes the third team to announce a January launch date for its new car

McLaren boss Ron Dennis revealed that the team will unveil its 2009 Formula 1 car in January. McLaren becomes the third team to announce a January launch date for its new car, after Toyoya (Jan. 16) and BMW Sauber (Jan. 20)

“We are really well advanced in our new car and we will announce (launch) the car in the latter part of January,” Dennis said.

The new Mercedes-powered car, to be called the MP4-24, will carry the number 1, for newly crowned World Champion Lewis Hamilton.
