Mark Webber could finally be set for a good result in his home race after a solid first day at Albert Park.

The Aussie was second fastest to teammate Sebastian Vettel in FP2, and the only glitch was a late spin.

“It was actually not a bad day. We got through plenty of info,” said Webber. “It was nice to have a bit of sun on the circuit been in Barcelona with plenty of overcast conditions. There’s a lot to go through tonight. We’re expecting a bit of overcast stuff tomorrow, so we’ve got to be ready for that. I think overall, a pretty positive day for us, but still areas to improve on.”

Webber says he still has an open mind on the new tires: “I think we still need to get racing and see how they go. I think we had a snapshot of information this afternoon, but we still need to go racing and see what they give us, because they continue to surprise you.”
