Rubens Barrichello has marked his record 257th grand prix by outqualifying his Honda teammate Jenson Button.

The Brazilian will start 12th, just head of Button, who struggled with the soft tires and had to qualify on the harder prime. However, Rubens said that outpacing his teammate on this occasion was nothing special for him.

“It’s nice to beat Jenson every time, not just this time!, he told SPEEDtv.com. “Honestly, 257 is a great achievement, I’m very proud of it. I think after the race I will hug everyone, but right now it’s a normal race. I’m just trying to my best. It’s
not that this weekend is better than others.

“I like Turkey, I mean, my Turn 8 was awesome, it was really good in terms of effort, that gives me a lot of pleasure. But 12th just in front of my teammate is not what we need. We need to make the car a top six contender, to be able to fight for podiums. That’s my aim for the season.

“At the end of the day for me it’s a very normal weekend, I just have to concentrate on what I have to do. I thought I would be not easily in qualy 3, but I thought I would be in qualy 3. I just have to concentrate and see if I can make the points.”
