Danica Patrick likes to watch the Super Bowl – and more than just the commercials.

That might seem natural considering she stars in the popular Go Daddy commercials that are prominent during the Super Bowl telecast. But Patrick typically watches so she can see what the final product looks like on television, as well as the company’s internet-only ads.

“Oddly enough, every year I’ve watched it during the game,” said Patrick, the former IndyCar star who will run NASCAR full time this season. “They tend to keep it pretty tight to their computers back at the Go Daddy offices. But this year I did see them. I am not going to tell you anything – nothing, not that they’re not leaking through the press.”

Go Daddy already has released its ads that will appear during the Super Bowl broadcast. A 30-second ad costs $3.5 million for the game, which last year drew 111 million viewers – more than any television program ever.

One Go Daddy ad features Patrick and personal trainer and talk show host Jillian Michaels painting words on Colombian model Natalia Velez to promote Go Daddy’s .co domain names.

The other features the band Pussycat Dolls and Patrick to promote Go Daddy’s cloud features. The cinematography was done by Oscar winner Russell Carpenter, who did the movie Titanic.

The ads do provide Patrick, racing’s top female star, with some incentive to stay in shape during the season.

“I’ve always been into fitness and I’ve always been into health and taking care of myself,” Patrick said. “Go Daddy puts me in those cute little outfits so I need to make sure I need to look my best.”

Including this year’s game, Patrick will have starred in a record 10 Super Bowl ads, according to Go Daddy. She said she plans on watching this year’s Super Bowl at home.

“I’ve been to the Super Bowl a couple of times, but it is a lot of work,” Patrick said. “I like to watch the game, actually. There’s no point in having it on if you are not really going to be paying attention because if you’re not following the ebb and flow and the momentum of the game and who has got the momentum and who doesn’t, it’s pretty boring.

“Watching a play here and there, my eyes glaze over, if I’m not paying attention, it doesn’t work. I like to watch the game so I’ll be home.”
